Barstool's 'Big Cat' Says Beanballs and Fighting Are Good For Baseball

Pittsburgh Pirates v Cincinnati Reds
Barstool Big Cat: “I think fighting in baseball makes baseball fun. There is nothing better in baseball than watching a three-game series and having a tension in the air where both teams truly do not like each other. I think that’s great for the sport. There’s something about baseball where it just builds inning after inning, and one guy might throw at another guy… I’m all for it and wish it was embraced more and the umps wouldn’t throw a guy out after he throws at one guy. As long as he doesn’t throw at a guy’s head, these types of things make baseball interesting. And baseball NEEDS something to be interesting. They don’t have super marketable stars, and they don’t have a sport where fans necessarily want to watch other teams’ game."

Listen to ‘Big Cat’ Dan Katz of Barstool Sports and the Pardon My Take Podcast join The Odd Couple with Chris Broussard and Rob Parker to discuss why he thinks beanballs and fighting is actually great for baseball, as the game’s age old enforcement of ‘unwritten rules’ is as synonymous to baseball as peanuts and Cracker Jacks.

Check out the audio below as Big Cat explains to Rob and Chris why he thinks the game of baseball NEEDS fighting in a sport that often struggles marketing its best players, and one that often takes a backseat to football and basketball in terms of its storylines involving juicy extracurriculars that fascinates the average fans.
