Who Will Be the Next Big-Name NFL Quarterback to Retire Early?

Chicago Bears v Indianapolis Colts
Colin Cowherd: “I don’t think this will be the last quarterback to do this… Money changes everything. If you’re Cam Newton in Week 7 and somebody cheap shots you in the knee, do you really want to go through another year of rehab? He already has a $100 million in the bank and other interests. Aaron Rodgers? Carson Wentz? All it takes is Khalil Mack or DeMarcus Lawrence coming off the edge. We’re paying these guys big boy money now and we’re entering a new era. Richer people over time don’t want to do a lot of really hard stuff. Rehab is hard, practice is hard, and there are more options. This is a the new football. For a long time, our entire lives, players played hurt, players played to a fourth contract, players played till they’re hobbled, and players were willing to gut it out and be quiet. Those days are over.” (Full Audio at Bottom of Page)

Listen to Colin Cowherd discuss Andrew Luck’s shocking retirement as the now-former Indianapolis Colts franchise quarterback announced his abrupt exit from the game of football.

Colin thinks this surely won’t be the first last quarterback to quit in his prime and believes this is a new era of football where the game’s best players are some of the richest people in the country, and the types of individuals who elevated themselves to such a high level in society that it no longer appeals to them to have to go through the grind of a physical sport like football.
