Colin Cowherd Ranks the 10 Best NFL Teams After Week 3 (Full Video at Bottom of Page)

10. 49ers (3-0): “Last year they couldn’t force any turnovers but this year they’re second in the league in takeaways. They’re also second in total defense. It’s a fun team to watch but they might end up beating themselves in big games since they’re so young.”

9. Saints (2-1): “I may have underrated the Saints. Teddy Bridgewater is 13-6 in his last 19 starts and this team isn’t going to go away. He’s actually a pretty good replica of Drew Brees. Their defense is excellent and the three teams they played were all playoff teams. The next 4-5 weeks they play a lot of teams they’ll be favored over.”

8. Texans (2-1): “Deshaun Watson only has two turnovers all year and he’s getting sacked less each game. I think they’ll win this division for the foreseeable future due to Watson’s greatness and Andrew Luck’s retirement.”

7. Bills (3-0): “Buffalo is for real. They have a great coaching staff and an excellent defense. This team is built to win in the cold and that’s why they drafted Josh Allen.”

6. Packers (3-0): “This defense already has eight takeaways. When you get a takeaway and give the ball to Aaron Rodgers that’s even better. They lead the NFL in takeaways, they’re second in total defense, and are third in sacks.”

5. Rams (3-0): “Todd Gurley is not the same and they don’t have that juice in the backfield anymore. I like Jared Goff, but Goff isn’t yet ready for a shootout in the NFC every week. This offense doesn’t feel as dynamic as it did a year ago.”

4. Ravens (2-1):Baltimore blew me away on Sunday, I don’t care if they lost. They lead the league in time of possession and Lamar Jackson is 8-2 as a starter. You know who he’s lost to? Kansas City twice. Jackson hasn’t thrown an interception since Week 11 last year, and he’s not making the big rookie mistakes like Baker Mayfield is.”

3. Cowboys (3-0): “My only question with Dallas is that they haven’t played anyone good yet. They have eight great players: Amari, Dak, Zeke, DeMarcus Lawrence, Byron Jones, Leighton Vander-Esch, Jaylon Smith… They’re first on third down offense and I like both their offensive and defensive lines. When healthy it’s the best offensive line in football.”

2. Chiefs (3-0): “Patrick Mahomes has 14 straight games of two touchdowns or more. They’re changing the games and are the NFL’s Golden State Warriors. The reason they’re not number 1 is they need to get another corner.”

1. Patriots (3-0): “New England doesn’t have Gronk, they have issues at left tackle, they lost their center for the year, their wide receivers are a mess, AB is gone, Edelman is hurt, Chris Hogan is gone, and the rookie is on IR. Brady is keeping this thing afloat, they have all sorts of offensive issues. But I will say this: Their defense is rangy, fast, they lead the NFL in pressures, their linebackers can hit and run, and it’s the best secondary --- it’s smart, well-coached, and you can’t beat them over the top.”
