Colin Cowherd: Immature Baker Mayfield is Losing the Browns Locker Room

Colin Cowherd: “I’m not here to hammer the kid but he is so cocky and his instincts are so bad. This is just a no-no. He called out the Browns’ medical staff and an hour later he had to apologize. What in God’s name are you doing??… Part of this job is being a grown-up. People were all-in on Baker but after that comment yesterday there are people in that organization who are DONE with him. The medical stuff is your friend in the locker room and you just called them out. I guarantee you Baker is losing people in that locker room. This is a mess and it’s very hard to solve now.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why Baker Mayfield’s latest run atop the NFL tabloids may have been the final straw in Cleveland for a Browns locker room that might have finally lost faith in the 24-year-old second-year quarterback.

Mayfield made headlines when he essentially blasted the Browns’ medical staff relating to Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr’s sports hernia injury, with Mayfield telling reporters “It wasn’t handled the right way in our training room” and that the injury “wasn’t addressed early enough.”

The comments obviously struck a nerve with the team internally, because Mayfield would quickly issue an apology.

Mayfield’s Browns are one of the league’s most disappointing teams after at one point holding Super Bowl aspirations, and Mayfield’s play ON the field has been as mistake-prone OFF it, as the former Heisman winner has 16 interceptions compared to 15 touchdowns and ranks last in the NFL in completion percentage.

Check out the video above as Colin details why Mayfield’s comments towards the training staff could have been the boiling point in a Browns franchise possibly heading towards a purge in the offseason.
