Report: Rams Considered Todd Gurley a Bad Locker Room Presence
Colin Cowherd: “Last year Sean McVay would say ‘The reason we’re not using Todd Gurley is because I’m an idiot! Haha! This is all on me!’ – that was the ‘story’ the Rams were projecting. But I live in Los Angeles and know players and people on the staff. That wasn’t the REAL story. The story is that Todd Gurley got paid, Todd Gurley got hurt, and Todd Gurley changed. He’s not great for the locker room right now, and they wanted him out for a year and couldn’t figure out how to get rid of him. I've got intel on this. They don’t want him there… What was being said behind closed doors was ‘HOW DO WE GET OUT OF THIS CONTRACT?’” (Full Audio Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd discuss Todd Gurley’s somewhat surprisingly release from the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday, as the team parted ways with a player who was previously considered the best running back in the NFL.

Gurley signed a 4-year, $57.5 million deal in 2018, with $45 million of that guaranteed, but has greatly regressed ever since, battling arthritis in the same left knee that he suffered a torn ACL to while at Georgia in 2014.

With the Rams cutting their former best player, Colin details why the breakup was a lot more complicated than the team simply seeing a fading talent.
