Rob Parker: “There’s no way, or no how that I would consider Aaron Judge the new ‘home run king’ if he reaches 62 home runs. It would be a crowning achievement and he’d have my respect, but I’m not going to rewrite the record books. The record says Barry Bonds is the home run king, all-time and single-season, and that’s what I’m going with. My response to those who don’t want to crown him because of PEDs is that he was playing against other players who were on PEDs as well. Plus, more pitchers were on PEDs back in Bonds’ time than hitters.”
Chris Broussard: “I’m with you in the sense that I consider Bonds to be the home run king. If you want to get deep with it, there were guys in the 70’s that were doing PEDs and much more in their time. Amphetamines were all over baseball back then, so PEDs are not a new thing. I’ll celebrate Judge beating Roger Marris, but I’m not about to crown him with the new record.”
