Dan Patrick: “More Is Actually Less For The ACC”

Dan Patrick reacts to the breaking news that the ACC is adding Stanford, Cal and SMU to their conference. He doesn’t believe the move adds much value to the conference, especially geographically speaking. While it’s great to add a market like Dallas with SMU, Northern California is a far cry from Southern California if you’re trying to keep schools like Clemson and Florida State from leaving during the unprecedented upheaval of college football conferences.

Dan Patrick: “Sometimes less is more. I don’t know, this might be a situation where more is actually less for the ACC. If you’re Florida State or Clemson, are you more likely to want to stay now, certainly Florida State, do you want to stay because Stanford, Cal and SMU are here? Ooookay...SMU, I get. SMU is valuable. You want to be in Dallas. But Stanford and Cal...being in California in Palo Alto and Berkley, not the same as Southern California.”
