Chris Broussard: “Do you still think he deserves to be the highest paid player? He’s the biggest draw in baseball right now...”
Rob Parker: “Yeah, I do. He has international appeal, the Japanese fans will be watching over there, will be buying his merchandise, American fans are into him...”
Chris Broussard: “and he’s legitimately great. To me, here’s the thing. Let’s say the plan is as the doctor says, but next year he goes out and hits .325, 50 homers, 100 RBI...wouldn’t it be tempting to not have him pitch?”

On today’s edition of The Odd Couple, Chris Broussard and Rob Parker react to the news that Angels pitcher & designated hitter Shohei Ohtani will undergo elbow surgery, although Dr. Neal El Attrache says that the superstar will be ready to hit full time next season and pitch again in 2025. With all the uncertainty surrounding Ohtani’s future as he hits free agency, Rob is certain of one thing: he should still be the highest paid player in baseball!
