Caleb Williams Shouldn’t Have Ducked the Media

The USC Trojans got rolled by the UCLA Bruins in their final regular season game and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams declined to speak to the media after the loss. While it’s not entirely uncommon for college players to skip the media, it may have been his last game as a college player and it probably would have been in his best interest to face the music after a disappointing season. He played well despite his team’s lack of success, and this was an opportunity to show his maturity before the NFL Draft.

Dan Patrick: “I wanted him to be proud of what he did this year, not kind of walk away from it, shy away from it.  And I thought that he should have, as the name, as the most important person on that team, he should have been up there in front of the media.”
