Welcome to the Hall of Very Good

Dan Patrick reacts to the Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 2024 which was announced by the Baseball Writers’ Association of America last night and he is less than impressed. While he hates to belabor the point, he firmly believes that baseball has made it nearly impossible to identify true greatness after allowing steroids to inflate the career statistics of so many players. But he’s tired of fighting about it and figures we should just accept that the bar for entry into Cooperstown has been lowered.

Dan Patrick: “I’m tired of fighting it, or at least objecting to it, because I was around it. And it’s not that I go, ‘Boy, now I feel guilty. I have to speak up.’ It’s just; I saw it and I think baseball did a poor job in policing that, and we created fictitious numbers here. We did... Maybe baseball changes where it’s the Hall of Really Good, or Very Good that we’re looking at.”
