Detroit Lions Offensive Coordinator Ben Johnson has removed himself from consideration for any of the head coaching opportunities he has interviewed for and plans to stay right where he is. This is good news for Lions fans, and Doug thinks it makes sense for Johnson as well. The opportunities he was considering all come with challenges he probably doesn’t want to face as a rookie head coach.
Doug Gottlieb: “He walked away before they ever got there for the second interview which tells you he decided: I just want to stay, I’m happy where I am. And I going to tell you, as a guy who’s left for bigger, brighter, more opportunities, I’m not sure he doesn’t have the right idea in mind.”
