Adrian Peterson plans to plead down his felony child abuse charge to misdemeanor reckless assault. If the judge accepts, Peterson will likely face no jail time, but will serve 80 hours of community service, pay a $2,000 fine and be placed on probation.

The trial date for Panthers DE Greg Hardy has been postponed from November 17th to early 2015. Hardy is awaiting a jury trial for domestic violence charges.

Bengals DT Devon Still's 4-year-old daughter Leah, a cancer patient, will attend Thursday's game vs. the Browns. The Bengals will present a check for more than $1 million to Children's Hospital for cancer treatment & research from money raised from sales of Still's jersey.

The Baseball Writers Association of America will reveal the top three finalists in the American League and National League for the 2014 Rookie of the Year, Manager of the Year, Cy Young and MVP Awards tonight at 6pm ET on MLB Network.

Federal prosecutors say Alex Rodriguez paid his cousin Yuri Sucart $900,000 last year after Sucart threatened to expose A-Rod's PED use. Sucart is set to stand trial for conspiring to distribute testosterone and human growth hormone.

The Twins officially introduced new manager Paul Molitor, who signed a three-year deal to manage Minnesota through the 2017 season.

The Indians and manager Terry Francona agreed on a two-year extension that keeps him with Cleveland through 2018. The deal includes club options for 2019 and 2020.

The San Francisco Giants extended a $15.3 million qualifying offer to 3B Pablo Sandoval.

Bulls PG Derrick Rose is probable for tonight's game against the Magic.  Rose missed one game after spraining both ankles Friday against the Cavaliers.

The Big Ten fined Maryland $10,000 & reprimanded coach Randy Edsall for “handshake-gate.” Maryland and Penn State football players got into a scuffle after Terps team captains refused to shake hands with PSU captains during Saturday's pregame coin toss.

The Big Ten suspended Maryland WR Stefon Diggs for making contact with an official who was trying to break-up Saturday's fight between Maryland and Penn State players.

In college basketball news, Indiana forward Troy Williams and guard Stanford Robinson will each be suspended the first four games of the season because of failed drug tests.

The Colts beat the Giants 40-24. Indianapolis quarterback Andrew Luck threw for 354 yards and 4 touchdowns. The Colts are 6-3 with the win while New York drops to 3-5. 

The Rockets beat the 76ers 104-93. James Harden had 35 points as Houston improved to 4-0. 

The Grizzlies downed the Hornets 93-81. Memphis is 4-0 to start the season. 

The Clippers defeat the Jazz 107-101. Chris Paul had a triple-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists.

The Blues edged the Rangers 4-3 in a shootout. St. Louis forward Vladimir Tarasenko had a goal in regulation and the game winning goal in the shootout.
