-The Yankees beat the Red Sox 4-1. New York clinches a wild card spot with the win.
-The Rangers knocked off the Angels 5-3. Texas clinches a playoff spot and reduces its magic number to 1 to win the A.L. West.
-The Twins downed the Indians 4-2. Minnesota and the L.A. Angels are both 1 game back of idle Houston in the race for the second A.L. wild card spot.
-The Blue Jays lost to the Orioles 6-4. The Royals beat the White Sox 6-4. Toronto and Kansas City are tied for the best record in the A.L. The Blue Jays hold the tie breaker.
-The Dodgers downed the Giants 3-2. The Mets were shutout by the Phillies 3-0.
L.A. and New York are tied but the Mets hold the tiebreaker.
