-Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski did not practice today for the New England Patriots. Reportedly Brady was sick while Gronkowski was dealing with a personal matter.
-USC has promoted receivers coach Tee Martin to offensive coordinator.
-The NBA has suspended Houston Rockets guard Ty Lawson two games without pay for driving while ability-impaired in violation of the law of the State of Colorado.

-Philadelphia Inquirer: The 76ers have hired Mike D'Antoni as associate head coach.
-The Rams led 28-6 after three quarters and beat Tampa Bay, 31-23. Tavon Austin had 1 TD run and 1 TD catch.
-Tom Brady led the fan vote for the Pro Bowl, edging Cam Newton. The Pro Bowl squad will be announced on Tuesday (including the players' and coaches' votes).
-In the NBA, Houston pulled away to beat the Lakers (4-22), 107-87. Kobe Bryant scored 22 points in the loss.
-Jeremy Lin scored 35 points as Charlotte won in overtime, 109-99 over Toronto.
-At Cleveland, LeBron James had 33 points in a 104-100 win against Oklahoma City. The wife of PGA champion Jason Day has been treated and released from a hospital after James crashed into her in the front row during the win.
-In college basketball, #18 SMU (after a 2-point halftime lead) defeated Hampton, 105-72. Coach Larry Brown's suspension is now over; his team went 9-0 without him.

-#20 West Virginia came back to win 86-68 at Marshall.
-The Seattle Mariners re-signed pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma; the Dodgers never finalized a deal with him.
-In the NHL, Colorado won its fourth straight game, 2-1 against the Islanders.

-L.A.'s Jonathan Quick had 45 saves in a 3-0 victory at Montreal.

-Columbus ended a 5-game losing streak with a 7-5 win at Arizona.
