Multiple Reports: The Marlins have hired Don Mattingly as their next manager. The two sides have agreed to a four-year contract.

-Rogers SportsNet: Toronto Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos is reportedly leaving the team after rejecting a contract extension.

-The Thunder won their season opener beating the Spurs 112-106. Russell Westbrook led Oklahoma City with 33 points. Kevin Durant chipped in with 22 points.

-The Bulls are off to a 2-0 start to the season with a 115-100 win over the Nets. Jimmy Butler led Chicago with 24 points while Derrick Rose had 15 points.

-The Cavaliers bounced back after an opening night loss with a 106-76 win over the Grizzlies. Kevin Love led Cleveland with 17 points and 13 rebounds.

-The Clippers downed the Kings 111-104. Blake Griffin led L.A. with 33 points. Chris Paul added 18 points and 11 rebounds in the win.

-The Timberwolves, in their first game since the death of head coach Flip Saunders, beat the Lakers 112-111. Kobe Bryant scored 24 points to start his 20th season with the L.A.
