Europe leads the Ryder Cup, 5-3, over the Americans after Day 1 of the Ryder Cup. The Europeans won 3 of the afternoon foursomes matches, and halved the other to take the lead.

Tony Stewart spoke with the Associated Press, saying he doesn’t know if he will ever drive a sprint car again.  Stewart will not be charged after the car he was driving struck and killed Kevin Ward Jr. in August.

Lions QB Matthew Stafford was one of the first people at the scene after a pedestrian bridge was knocked down on a Detroit freeway by a truck.  1 person was killed in the accident.

Lions WR Calvin Johnson did practice today after sitting out the last 2 days with an ankle injury.

Chiefs RB Joe McKnight will miss the rest of the season after tearing his Achilles tendon in practice on Thursday.

Falcons WR Roddy White will play in Minnesota on Sunday after missing Week 3 with a hamstring injury.

The Yankees beat the Orioles 6-5. In his final game at Yankee Stadium the retiring Derek Jeter went 2-3 with 3 RBI and had the game winning walk-off single.

The Pirates rolled over the Braves 10-1. Pittsburgh moves 1 game back of idle St. Louis in the N-L Central race.

The Tigers downed the Tins 4-2 while the Royals beat the White Sox 6-3. Detroit still holds a 2 game lead on Kansas City atop the A-L Central.

The A's fell to the Rangers 2-1. Oakland is holding on to a 2 game lead over Seattle in the battle for the second wild card spot in the A-L.

The Giants rolled over the Redskins 45-15. New York quarterback Eli Manning had 4 touchdown passes and a touchdown run.  

#11 UCLA beat up on #15 Arizona State 62-27. Bruins quarterback Brett Hundley, who was injured last week, started and threw 4 touchdown passes with a touchdown run.

#24 Oklahoma State outscored Texas Tech 45-35. Cowboys quarterback Daxx Garman threw 4 touchdown passes and had a touchdown run.
