-The Seattle Mariners fired manager Lloyd McClendon after two seasons.
-Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee says he's cleared concussion protocol and will play Sunday against New England.
-Buffalo Bills running back Lesean McCoy says he will miss three to four weeks with a Grade 2 hamstring pull.
-A jury found Atlanta Hawks guard Thabo Sefolosha not guilty of all three misdemeanor charges against him stemming from his April arrest outside a New York City nightclub.

-The Astros beat the Royals 5-2 in Game 1 of the ALDS. Houston is now 2-0 on the road this postseason.
-Adrian Beltre of the Rangers and Josh Donaldson and Jose Bautista of the Blue Jays all left with injuries. All will be re-evaluated today to determine their status for Game 2.
-The Colts downed the Texans 27-20. Indianapolis quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, starting for the injured Andrew Luck, threw 2 TD passes to Andre Johnson in the win.
-Washington beat #17 U-S-C on the road 17-12. The Huskies beat their old coach Steve Sarkisian in their first meeting since he left Washington.
-Houston rolled over SMU 49-28. The Cougars are 1 of 4 undefeated teams in the American Athletic Conference.
-The Lightning beat the Flyers 3-2 in O-T. Tampa Bay wins the league's first ever 3-on-3 overtime format.   
-The Senators downed the Sabres 3-1. Buffalo star rookie Jack Eichel scored a goal in his first NHL game.
-The Wild rallied to beat the Avalanche 5-4. Minnesota scored 4 third period goals to win in Colorado.
