-NFL Media: Matt Hasselbeck is expected to start at quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts tonight against the Houston Texans in place of the injured Andrew Luck, though Luck will do some throwing before the game.

-The Miami Dolphins have fired defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle. Defensive backs coach Lou Anarumo will replace him.
-The Cubs shutout the Pirates 4-0 to win the N.L. wild card. Chicago starter Jake Arrieta earned the complete game, 4-hit shutout. He struck out 11 and walked none.
-The NLDS is set with the Cardinals hosting the Cubs in St. Louis starting on Friday. It is the best 3 of out 5 series.
-The defending Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks lost their season opener at home 3-2 to the New York Rangers.
-The Canadiens downed the Maple Leafs 3-1 spoiling the Toronto head coaching debut of Mike Babcock.
-The Sharks surprised the Kings in L.A. 5-1. The Canucks rolled over the Flames 5-1.
-The U.S. leads 4-1 after Day 1 at the 2015 Presidents Cup. In the 10 all-time matches, the United States have won 8, the International Team has won 1 with 1 match tied.
