Trending Now: Ricardo Lockette to Undergo Season-Ending Surgery

-Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette will have season-ending surgery to repair ligament damage in his neck sustained in Sunday's win over the Cowboys.

-Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith, Sr. has scheduled a Nov. 9 surgery to repair his torn Achilles tendon. Despite saying earlier this year he would retire after this season, he has not decided whether to attempt a comeback in 2016.

-Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is undergoing an MRI on his left hand today to determine the extent of the ligament damage in his thumb.

-Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer said that in addition to serving a one-game suspension for operating a vehicle under the influence, quarterback J.T. Barrett will also forfeit his scholarship for a term and undergo counseling.

-The Marlins officially introduced new manager Don Mattingly in a news conference this morning.

-The Royals beat the Mets 7-2 in 12 innings. Kansas City scored 2 in the 9th to tie it and 5 in the 12th to win it. It's the second World Series title for KC and the first since 1985.

-Royals catcher Salvador Perez was named World Series MVP. Perez hit .364 (8-for-22) with 2 doubles, 3 runs scored and 2 RBI.

-In a battle of undefeated teams the Broncos beat the Packers 29-10 to move to 7-0. Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers was held to a career low 77 yards passing with no touchdowns.

-The Saints outscored the Giants 52-49. New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees threw 7 TD passes to tie an NFL record. New York quarterback Eli Manning threw 6 TD passes in the loss.

-The Bengals moved to 7-0 with a 16-10 win over the Steelers. Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, back after missing 4 games with a knee injury, threw 3 interceptions.

-Steelers star running back Le'Veon Bell suffered a knee injury vs. Cincinnati and will likely miss the rest of the season.

-The Raiders knocked off the Jets 34-20. Oakland quarterback Derek Carr threw 4 TDs in the win. New York quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was knocked out of the game with a thumb injury.

-Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer announced he plans to retire at the end of the 2015 season after 29 years with the Hokies.

-The officiating crew from the Miami vs. Duke game has been suspended for 2 games for allowing a Hurricanes' last second winning touchdown that shouldn't have counted.

-Jeff Gordon won at Martinsville. Matt Kenseth wrecked race leader Joey Logano with 47 laps to go in retaliation for Logano taking Kenseth out of a race 2 weeks ago.
