Vikings RB Adrian Peterson has been suspended without pay for at least the rest of this season for violating the NFL's Personal Conduct Policy by inflicting abusive punishment on his 4-year-old son. He won't be considered for reinstatement until April 15th.

The NFLPA will appeal Adrian Peterson's suspension and demand a neutral arbitrator.  In a statement, the union argues, “the discipline imposed is inconsistent and an NFL executive told Adrian that his time on the Commissioner's list would be considered as time served.”

Updated: The Pittsburgh Steelers have released RB LeGarrette Blount. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said the move was "in the best interest of the organization."

The Browns have waived RB Ben Tate just two days after he had negative nine yards on two carries in Cleveland's loss to the Texans. Last week, Tate said he wasn't satisfied with the Browns' running backs rotation.

The Steelers rallied to beat the Titans 27-24. Pittsburgh RB Le'Veon Bell ran for 204 yards and 1 TD. The Steelers are 7-4 and ½ game out of first place in the AFC North.

Steelers running back LeGarrette Blount reportedly left the game late in the second half and went into the locker room because he was upset he hadn't carried the ball.

In women's college basketball #6 Stanford beat #1 UConn 88-86 in overtime. The Huskies 47-game winning streak was snapped.
