It is no secret that Odell Beckham Jr. wants to be the highest paid player in football. The New York Giants are not granting him that wish at the moment, but the two sides are negotiating to make Odell one of the highest paid players in the history of football.
While his talent is unquestioned, the conversation about that much money being paid to a wide receiver opens the door for a more macroscopic look at what positions you should be paying on your roster. With positions like QB, MLB, and even LT to an extent proving better talent for value on championship teams, the Giants might be looking at ways to not have to pay Odell what he wants.
