Chris Broussard: “I think (Aaron Boone’s decision to walk Miguel Cabrera) was the right thing to do. It backfired on them, but their job is not to help Cabrera get to 3000! I’m not thinking about that, I’m trying to win the game!”
Rob Parker: “It was the right thing to do! And the thing that no one wants to talk about is that Cabrera struck out two of his first three at-bats! He had a chance to get his 3000th hit!”
Today on The Odd Couple, Chris Broussard and Rob Parker discuss the Yankees opting to intentionally walk Tigers DH Miguel Cabrera and deprive him of another shot to reach the 3,000th hit milestone. Yankees Manager Aaron Boone said the team’s obligation was to win the game and both Chris and Rob agree with his sentiments!
