N.I.L. Rules Lead to More Exploitation of College Athletes, not Less

Ole Miss Head Football Coach, Lane Kiffin leveled some harsh criticism of the transfer portal and Name, Image and Likeness rules governing college athletics. While he admits to taking advantage of the opportunities those rules present for improving his team, he thinks they are turning college athletics into “professional sports.” Doug agrees 150% and adds that the lack of long term contracts means players are actually being exploited more than they were when amateurism ruled the day.

Doug Gottlieb: “You promise somebody. ‘We’re going to take care of you. You’re part of our program. You’re family for life.’ But the truth is you’re not in, they’re not in because of the system and you’re out...Lane Kiffin’s 150% right.”
