The Dallas Cowboys announced that Head Coach Mike McCarthy will return for the final season of his contract and Dan Patrick wonders if Jerry Jones even made a call to Bill Belichick. After multiple heartbreaking playoff losses under McCarthy and the G.O.A.T. of NFL coaches available, Jones may end up kicking himself for a lost opportunity.
Dan Patrick: “So, multiple seasons of playoff heartbreak under Mike McCarthy and he’s coming back. Now, he’s going to be a lame-duck coach unless Jerry Jones extends his contract, but we’ve been down this road before. Jones played a similar game twice before... I don’t know what Jerry is going to do as far as Mike McCarthy’s future here, but if it’s Super Bowl or bust for the Cowboys and you could’ve upgraded with Bill Belichick; I don’t know if he even made a call... (He’s) loyal, maybe to a fault, but Mike McCarthy is coming back.”
