The Washington Commanders had the last open head coaching position in the NFL until they committed to hiring former Dallas Cowboys Defensive Coordinator Dan Quinn this morning. While many in the media would have you believe only offensively minded to be successful as an NFL head coach, Doug disagrees. Quinn can easily surround himself with great offensive minds, and now he’ll get a talented QB with the second pick in the draft and can build a team that should compete in the NFC East.
Doug Gottlieb: “There’s nothing not to like about Dan Quinn other than this idea that he’s a defensive guy...The media convinced everybody, or maybe the numbers convinced everybody that you have to go offensive, and I don’t know if that’s really the case.”
