Aaron Rodgers' Future Plans Should Be Met With Skepticism

Dan Beyer: "There is a part of me that thinks Aaron Rodgers said this because he wanted Jets fans to be like, 'YEAH!' And I don't think that was the response. I think he says these things to get a response. To say he could play 2 or 3 or 4 more years may have seemed like a positive last year for Jets fans, but I don't know if they would view it as a positive right now. Not that they would be negative about it, but I don't think he would get that powerful response that he would have hoped."

Dan Beyer and Rich Ohrnberger react to Aaron Rodgers saying he would like to play for four more years before retiring. Dan breaks down why it is fair to be skeptical of Rodgers stating any length of time as his intention. Dan also discusses why this sort of statement would have excited Jets fans a year ago, but after missing virtually all of last season due to injury, Jets fans should take pause when they hear that the veteran quarterback wants to extend the twilight of his career after being off the field for a season. Rich gives perspective on why Rodgers is setting lofty goals for himself.
