Trent Dilfer: More Athletes Need To Have Political Training

Former NFL Quarterback and Superbowl champ Trent Dilfer sat down with Colin Cowherd to discuss the interview Odell Beckham Jr. had with ESPN's Josina Anderson over the weekend. Odell gave an incredibly candid account of what's going on with the New York Giants and their struggles saying the following:

"We just need to play with some heart. We're only 1-3. The year we won 11-5, we were 2-3 to start so you never know when you can go on a run, but it's just of matter of when we're going to go on a run. How come we can't throw the ball for more than 20 yards? How come we don't attempt or try to throw the ball for more than 20 yards? Those are questions we're going to have to figure out."

There are several more shots throughout this interview that seemed directed at the New York Giants' quarterback Eli Manning. Manning probably takes quite a beating as it is from the media so while these comments aren't surprising, Trent Dilfer feels Odell should have done a much better job keeping these feelings behind closed doors.
