With the NFL garnering its lowest ratings in nearly a decade a popular theory has emerged about the negative blowback the NFL's National Anthem protests have created with fans suddenly fed up with the behavior of their hometown players.

Colin Cowherd, however, thinks this is a completely fictional notion and points his finger directly around the hoopla of the 2016 Presidential Election.

With Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump almost set for what should become the most sensationalized saga in election race history, Colin thinks the building fascination has siphoned away eyeballs from their televisions.

Cowherd also points out that Fox's ratings, a channel strictly airing NFC games, hasn't seen rating drops yet this season, but AFC games, whose rights are owned by CBS, have seen steep rating declines simply because of Tom Brady's suspension and Peyton Manning's retirement.
