The Chicago Bears Remain Mum on Plans for their First Pick

The NFL Draft begins this Thursday night and the Chicago Bears yet to announce their plans for the first overall pick. It’s assumed they will select QB Caleb Williams out of USC but Dan wonders if the NFL hasn’t pressured the Bears into keeping quiet about it in order to manufacture some drama for the television audience. It’s not unheard of for teams to announce the pick ahead of time but that may now be a thing of the past.

Dan Patrick: “Are (the Chicago Bears) allowed to say, ‘We’re taking Caleb Williams?’ Have they made up the jersey for Thursday night that says C. Williams on the back? I was told over the weekend that...this is a TV show. You don’t want to give away the ending of something. This has been six months in the making, eight months in the making."
