Paul George and Russell Westbrook Won't Work

Paul George was apparently sold on Oklahoma City, and the Thunder organization as a whole, by Kevin Durant and Reggie Jackson during his time contemplating a move away from Indiana. If that isn't surprising enough, the fact that George also said it isn't a foregone conclusion that he leaves the Thunder to join the Lakers next season should shock anyone who follows the NBA closely.

We might have a real franchise in OKC again, not the one-man-show we had all of last season, and on first look this could be the start of something really great. It seems as if the Thunder are BACK!!!

Not so fast.

With any collection of stars, the first thing you have to determine is how well the pair will play together. Russell Westbrook and Paul George, according to Colin Cowherd, will have a lot of trouble connecting.

"I believe Paul George and Russell Westbrook will eventually struggle to play together."

Pay close attention to situations next season where the shot clock is winding down, the end of a quarter is coming up, or a game is on the line, and look to see how much Russell Westbrook defers the ball (and the spotlight) to his right-hand man. Then, you will understand.
