Patriots CB Malcolm Butler was the Super Bowl hero a couple years back, and played the vast majority of defensive snaps for the team this season. However, Bill Belichick decided to bench him for the entirety of the Super Bowl & it left many wondering why. A report came out today that suggested Butler may have committed a number of team violations including curfew.
Ben Maller thinks Belichick was right to bench Butler. There needs to be accountability among players & Belichick has built up enough clout with this team that any decision he makes regarding discipline should go unquestioned.
