Josh McDaniels Isn't A Big Loss For The Colts

When it was announced that Josh McDaniels had decided to back out of his handshake deal with the Indianapolis Colts and instead keep his Offensive Coordinator job in New England, many thought it would set the Colts franchise back. The truth is, they were only excited about the potential of what Josh McDaniels could do for their team, even though he has been mediocre at best as a head coach in the past.

Jason Smith and Michael Harmon discuss the only reason McDaniels would make such a bold move, and bring Colts fans the positive side to the drama. None of Bill Belichick's assistants have been successful as head coaches and much of McDaniel's success with the Patriots is a credit to Tom Brady. While hopes were high on what the hot shot offensive coordinator could do with Andrew Luck, there are plenty of great coaching candidates available who will be able to succeed in Indianapolis.
