There was so much speculation as to how the NCAA would handle this scandal that involves coaches acting as liaison's to player's getting paid from sports agencies and an full FBI investigation. To everyone's surprise, the NCAA seems to have taken a back seat and allowed the dirt to be dug up, and told the school to handle the discipline.
Why would the NCAA do this? Well according to Mike Harmon & Dan Beyer, it's because they love all the attention. With March Madness starting in a little over a week, the NCAA has dominated headlines the last couple weeks, and despite this being one of the largest scandals in sports history, it only bodes well for the NCAA.
