Reports surfaced on Wednesday that the Lakers had re-engaged the Spurs in trade talks for Kawhi Leonard. It had been said previously that Kawhi wants to be traded and his preferred destination is the Lakers. However, it seems as if the Spurs want more than what the Lakers are currently offering.
Clay Travis thinks that if Kawhi really wants to join the Lakers, he should stick it out for one more year in San Antonio. That way, he can join the Lakers without them having to give up any of their young core. Then in 2019, Kawhi's presence on the team could potentially lure Klay Thompson away from the Warriors.
