Matt Patricia Is On A Short Leash After Only One Game

Matt Patricia's debut as head coach of the Detroit Lions did not go well as his team dropped the opening game of the season to the New York Jets, led by 21 year-old rookie Sam Darnold by a score of 48-17. It certainly wasn't the start the former Patriots defensive coordinator was hoping for and it didn't help his stock that the game was nationally televised.

While he's only one game into his tenure as HC of the Lions, his job isn't necessarily safe. Reports are surfacing several members of the Lions aren't buying into Matt Patricia and claim that the negative culture he has brought in has already caused division within the team. If Detroit doesn't start winning soon, Matt Patricia may find himself looking for another job.
