Colin Cowherd: Now is the Perfect Time For Carolina to Move Off Cam Newton

Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Carolina Panthers
Colin Cowherd: “I think Carolina made a decision a year ago that they’re done with Cam Newton but they don’t know how to pivot out. This injury is a break for them and now they can see what Kyle Allen is. They can use the old ‘It’s not you, it’s us’ and ‘We rushed you back, our bad, it was irresponsible and please take till Thanksgiving to come back!’ This gives Carolina the opening to see if they’ve got the next guy.” (Full Video at Bottom of Page)

Listen to Colin Cowherd compare Russell Westbrook’s exit in Oklahoma City to a potential exodus of Cam Newton in Carolina, as Colin has been on record for months that he believes the Panthers will soon be moving off the former NFL MVP.

Colin said Paul George’s trade request to the Los Angeles Clippers opened the door for OKC to trade Westbrook. It was reported that OKC had wanted to get rid of Westbrook for at least a year, but now they could effectively get rid of him without any bad PR, since it just appeared like they were doing Westbrook a favor and trading him to a good team.

Colin says the Panthers can come off like they’re really worried about Cam re-injuring his foot, when really they just want him on the bench longer so they can get more time to see if they’ve got anything with rookie quarterback Kyle Allen.

After Allen’s big game versus the Arizona Cardinals in Week 2, Colin says the Panthers can see the writing on the wall on an immediate future without Cam.

Check out the video below as Colin says this injury FINALLY gives Carolina they out they need to bail on Cam without any stern blowback from the media and fans.
