Colin Cowherd Blasts Baker Mayfield For Criticizing NFL Referees

Baker Mayfield: “I’ll probably get fined for this, but they [the referees] were pretty bad today… I wouldn’t say it’s complaining when it’s blatantly obvious. I’d say that’s just stating facts. Freedom of speech I thought, but that’s OK, I get fined for it. It’s the league and that’s what they do. They fine you for some ridiculous things, that’s just how it is. There’s a reason that everybody is talking about it. I knew I was going to get fined but it needs to be said. People have to be held accountable for their job.”
Colin Cowherd: “’People have to be held accountable'?? YOU GOOF. You lead the NFL in interceptions! YOU are someone that needs to be held accountable. YOU were terrible against Seattle and YOU lost the game. ‘Freedom of Speech’?? Do you understand what the First Amendment is? Did you go to class at Oklahoma? Freedom of speech protects us from our government; not from being fined from the NFL, you goof. Baker is always blaming someone else.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd berate Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield, after the second-year quarterback ripped NFL officials for controversial calls they made in Cleveland’s Week 6 narrow loss to the Seahawks, then went on to double-down about how it 'needed to be said' after he was asked about his $12,500 fine from the league on Wednesday.

For one, Colin says it’s so astoundingly counterintuitive to bash officials in a world where top players and coaches try to make a habit out of ‘sucking up’ to referees and being as cordial as possible, and two, Colin has a problem with Mayfield saying ‘people need to be held accountable’ considering he leads the NFL in interceptions, and clearly hasn’t taken any responsibility for his own blunders.

Check out the video above as Colin once again blasts the polarizing 24-year-old who has been arguably the most disappointing player of 2019.
