On today’s edition of The Odd Couple, Chris Broussard and Rob Parker discuss the report that came out today stating the NFL attendance numbers hit a 15-year low. Chris and Rob are surprised given the NFL continuing to grow in popularity the within the last 10 years. Rob says the reason the NFL and other sports are doing so well financially is because the best TV ratings are live sports due to streaming programs for shows you can binge watch. Plus, the guys say certain channels like NFL Red Zone provide opportunity to watch multiple games at once for fans, decreasing the desire to go to live games. Chris also says the growth of fantasy football contributes to the record low attendance, citing people are invested in multiple players and teams on Sunday’s now more than ever.
