Todd McShay Says He Would Take a Healthy Tua Tagovailoa Over Joe Burrow

Dan Patrick: “If Tua was healthy…”
Todd McShay: “It would be a great debate, it really would be. I personally, would take Tua over Joe if there were no medical concerns and both were clean medically. Tua is Drew Brees from the left side, and who wouldn’t take Brees number one overall?? What I’m concerned about and what everyone else in the league in concerned about is nobody knows how he’s going to recover. He’s young enough to recover but this is an injury that could take a while, and 6 or 7 years down the road it could become degenerative… If he can get back, we’re talking about one of the best quarterback prospects we’ve seen in the last 5 or 6 years in terms of accuracy and efficiency in today’s game, and being able to quickly process, move around, and knowing where go with the football.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to ESPN NFL Draft guru Todd McShay explain to Dan Patrick why he would take a healthy Tua Tagovailoa over Joe Burrow if the Alabama quarterback had never suffered a serious hip injury at the end of the regular season.

Tagovailoa and LSU’s Burrow present an extremely top heavy quarterback draft the likes of Jameis Winston & Marcus Mariota of 2015, and Jared Goff & Carson Wentz of 2016, but it seems highly unlikely at this point that the Cincinnati Bengals would select Tua over Burrow at number one.

Despite Burrow coming off arguably the best season in college football history, check out the video above as McShay details why he would rather take a healthy Tua, who McShay called the ‘left-handed Drew Brees’.
