Ryan Newman in Serious Condition After Crash at Daytona 500

NASCAR Driver Ryan Newman is in serious condition with injuries that are not life-threatening following a crash on the final turn of the Daytona 500. Denny Hamlin went on to win the race for the 2nd consecutive year and before knowing the severity of the crash, Denny celebrated by performing donuts following his photo finish. Jason Smith and Mike Harmon believe NASCAR will make strives to improve communications among racing teams to prevent bad optics like this in the future.
