Colin Cowherd: Giannis Antetokounmpo Doesn't Deserve the NBA's MVP

Colin Cowherd: “This is called the most ‘Valuable’ trophy… Nobody is disputing that Giannis is great but he’s 74th in total minutes and in many fourth quarters he’s not playing a ton. LeBron is more ‘needed’ late in games. That feels more ‘valuable’. LeBron is a better shooter, passer, and ball handler – those always felt like ‘valuable’ traits in the 2020 NBA. Say this out loud: new position, new coach, totally new roster, and the Kobe tragedy. That is a fascinating accomplishment and a remarkable story. Giannis is a great player, but the Bucks are 5-1 without him and are still absolutely better than the Nets, meaning they’re still a playoff team without Giannis. Are the Lakers a playoff team without LeBron? Have you watched their offense?? I don’t think they’re a playoff team.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he believes LeBron James should win the NBA’s Most Valuable Player Award over Giannis Antetokounmpo, despite the reigning MVP currently holding monumentally high odds to win the award for the second consecutive season.

Colin says not only has LeBron’s season been a better ‘story’ – an underrated facet that always seems to come into play with the MVP – but he’s also more ‘needed’ on a weaker Lakers team that hasn’t methodically massacred teams all year like the Milwaukee Bucks have.

Check out the video above as Colin details why he thinks the Bucks are a still playoff team in the East without Giannis – who are 5-1 without him this season, and also says he doesn’t think the Lakers would be able to make the playoffs without LeBron.
