Angels and Padres Could Take Advantage of the Shortened MLB Season

Jason Smith and Mike Harmon list some 'surprise' teams that can take advantage of the shortened MLB schedule and win the World Series. The Padres are on the rise and their young arms only will have to make 10-11 starts before the playoffs. They can start out hot and help Machado, Tatis and the rest carry it.

Also, don't sleep on the Angels. They can out-hit the league for 60 games without relying on shutdown pitching. Joe Maddon and Mickey Callaway, who's a great pitching coach but horrible manager, will be big difference.
