Clay Travis is back from vacation and hasn't missed a step. There has been some talk out there about college football and the possibility of this season taking place in the spring instead of the fall when it is normally played.
Clay argues that this is one of the most ridiculous ideas that he has ever heard. First off, there's no guarantee that the Coronavirus situation will be any better during the spring semester. Secondly, can you really ask college athletes to play in the spring of 2021 and then expect them to play again that upcoming fall? They would be essentially playing two full seasons in the span of 7-8 months. On top of that, there's a great chance that all of the best players that will be going to the NFL Draft would decide to sit out and not play. The NFL Combine is typically in February, so why would the top prospects decide to play in a spring season when the NFL Combine and Draft would theoretically be in the middle of the season.
Clay says that the NFL would gladly accept the void of College football, slide right in and take over Saturdays too, completely owning the Fall sports calendar.
