Damian Lillard is the Type of Winner that Kyrie Irving Will Never Be

Colin Cowherd: “Even though Brooklyn lost, the Nets showed you three separate times that they’ve won WITHOUT Kyrie. They made the playoffs BEFORE he got there, then pre-bubble when he was there their record was better when he DIDN’T play, and then in the Bubble they were 5-3. HOW?? How were they 5-3? How did they beat the Bucks? How did they beat the Clippers? There is a massive difference between a great basketball TALENT – Damian and Kyrie and both that, and a WINNING basketball player who lubricates, and doesn’t agitate the room. Lillard missed 8 games this year and they went 2-6. Damian Lillard, Steph Curry, Chris Paul are not just great, they are WINNING basketball talent, and not just great basketball talent.” (FULL Segment Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he thinks Damian Lillard has started to separate himself from All-Star point guards the likes of Kyrie Irving and Russell Westbrook, as Colin believes all three are elite basketball talents, but ONLY Lillard is capable of playing ‘WINNING’ basketball.

Although Irving won an NBA Championship with the Cavaliers in 2016, his reputation has greatly dwindled ever since, with many believing that the Celtics are Nets were literally a better team without Irving hurting the team’s chemistry.

Westbrook became the first player since Oscar Robertson to average a triple-double during an entire season, and came within a game of reaching the NBA Finals in 2016 with Oklahoma City, but his Thunder actually finished with a higher winning percentage this year with Chris Paul (.611), than they did with Westbrook AND Paul George in 2019 (.598).

Check out the video above as Colin details why Lillard has emerged as the NBA’s best point guard.
