Clay Travis Rips Big Ten Commissioner For Son Playing SEC Football in Fall

Clay Travis: “This is flagrantly hypocritical for the commissioner of the Big Ten, Kevin Warren, who has a son playing college football THIS YEAR at Mississippi State… We don’t know what Kevin Warren is saying privately to his son, but isn’t it ironic that the Big Ten commissioner’s own son has the opportunity to decide whether or not to play college football, and that's a decision that is not permitted and not allowed for all of the Big Ten fall athletes to make? Kevin Warran made that decision for them and so did the university presidents in the Big Ten. That is the very height of hypocrisy. Do as I say, but not as I do in my own family. That is what the Big Ten commissioner is saying right now… There is zero doubt that this is an unprecedented situation in college athletics, but there is also zero doubt that college athletes who choose to play are in a safer environment surrounding their football program that they are off the campus and surrounded by other students… The closer these kids are kept to the football program, the safer they are because they’re going to be tested daily, they’re going to have their temperatures checked daily, and they will have access to the best possible medical care. The minute they are no longer preparing for a season, they will no longer be held as closely to the football program, and their rate of infection and/or positive tests will increase... College football players, and college athletes in general all deserve the right to make a choice in consultation with their families, just like what is happening for the Big Ten commissioner's son. Don't let the partisan politics overwhelm your decision-making. ” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to Clay Travis blast Big Ten Commissioner Kevin Warren for cancelling the conference’s college football season this fall, while at the same time also having a son that will be playing college football in the SEC at Mississippi State next month.

Check out the video above as Clay calls it ‘flagrantly hypocritical’ for the Big Ten’s commissioner to deny other college students the option on whether or not to play college football this fall, and yet is allowing his own son make that decision. Clay also says he thinks it’s much safer for these players to be kept in their football programs with strict protocols, and while being testing daily under the care of medical experts, compared to simply ‘hanging out’ off-campus without any supervision.
