Colin Cowherd Says Russell Wilson Won't Finish His Career in Seattle

Russell Wilson: “My goal is to play for another 15 years”

Colin Cowherd: “Russell Wilson is apparently going to play football into his 50’s! Quarterbacks are lasting way longer now – there are personal trainers, personal chefs, and Russell Wilson spends $1.5 million a year on his body and has for years. Russell has similar traits to LeBron James and Tom Brady. He’s really smart, he takes care of his body, he gets the big picture, and sees his body as a long-term investment… The first thing I thought when I saw this headline was ‘oh, so he’s not ending his career in Seattle?’ Why did LeBron leave Cleveland? Because the Cavs were no longer good for his brand. Why did Brady leave New England? They couldn’t get the type of players to elevate him as he aged. And what’s happening in Seattle once again this year? Bad o-line, insistence to run a 1988 offense, and Russell is the life preserver saving drive after drive, and game after game. Seattle has never understood that it’s never been Richard Sherman’s team, Marshawn Lynch’s team, or Pete Carroll’s team, it’s been Russell’s. Like New England, they’ll finally GET IT when it’s too late.” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd discuss Russell Wilson’s recent remarks about wanting to play in the NFL for ‘another 15 years’, and why it made Colin think about Wilson becoming the next LeBron James in Cleveland, or Tom Brady in New England, as a larger than life franchise player who left their maiden franchises because they were either being taken for granted, or because they were no longer suitable to the players’ massive brand anymore.

Check out the full segment above as Colin predicts that Wilson will not finish his career with the Seattle Seahawks.
