Colin Cowherd: Tom Brady Not Shaking Nick Foles' Hand is Not a Big Deal

Colin Cowherd: “Tom Brady didn’t shake hands with Nick Foles after the game, OMG what bad sportsmanship! Really??... Did Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, and Jimmy Fallon after shows go ‘hey bro, you CRUSHED me in the ratings!’ STOP, this isn’t high school volleyball, it’s the NFL. It’s alpha males, with tens of millions of dollars, and careers at stake. Tom Brady had just forgotten what down it was, he was pissed… Ninety-nine percent of the time he does it the right way. ‘SPORTSMANSHIP ABOVE ALL ELSE!’, No – WINNING above all else. Kirk Cousins is 0-9 on Monday Night Football but he’s always gracious. I’ll take the guy who is 11-3 on Monday Night Football and occasionally pissed. It’s not good sportsmanship above everything else, it’s winning… In soccer they give you a present before the game and call it a ‘friendly.’ That AIN’T the NFL. No, we tackle you, put your face in the dirt, tweak your knee, jam our thumb into your ear, and it’s mostly legal. When we lose, we’re upset, there is tens of millions of dollars at stake, jobs on the line, and no guaranteed contracts. That’s the culture of the NFL and sometimes guys don’t wanna shake hands. I don’t care about what you’re going to tell your kids. Be a parent. Give them ice cream. Brady has been an incredible ambassador for his sport, and unbelievably gracious. Brady forgot how many downs there were and maybe he wasn’t in the mood.” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd defend Tom Brady for not shaking Nick Foles’ hand after Thursday Night Football when the Bears pulled off the upset over the Bucs in the dying minutes of the game, and at the expense of a mental lapse from Brady forgetting what down it was on the game-deciding play.

Check out the segment above as Colin details why this is not a big deal at all, and you can’t blame a guy coming off the worst lost of the season not being in the mood to exchange pleasantries.
