Ben Maller: “Clayton Kershaw continues to get opportunity after opportunity to slay the demons of postseasons past, and year after year, to his credit, finds new and imaginative ways to add more demons to his closet. It’s always something with this guy, and we have become Rhodes Scholars on ‘Playoff Kershaw.’ No matter how good Kershaw looks on the mound, and how dominate he looks, you’re never more than a couple pitches away from having a stomach ache and turning the TV to watch something else because it’s about to become Chernobyl ‘Reactor 4’ with Kershaw. The Clayton Kershaw apologists really bother me, it’s NEVER his fault and there’s no accountability. Dave Roberts deserves some blame but it’s Kershaw on the mound. This guy melts like butter on movie popcorn. Kershaw is an abysmal failure in big moments in the postseason. The Dodgers franchise has to move on. They’re being held hostage by his regular season performances. The Dodgers have to become cord cutters and cut the cord to Kershaw. It would be mutually beneficial and the Dodgers can’t be afraid.” (Full Segment Above)
Listen to Ben Maller explain why he thinks the Dodgers need to cut the cord with Clayton Kershaw and trade the future Hall of Famer ASAP, as Kershaw once again lived up to his infamous reputation of coming up the smallest on the biggest stage after getting lit up by the Braves in Game 4 of the NLCS.
Although he is undoubtedly one of the best pitchers in baseball history, Kershaw is just 11-12 for his career in the postseason, with an ERA of 4.31. Strikingly bizarre if you compare it to his regular season career numbers of 175-76, with a dominant ERA of 2.43.
Check out the video above as Maller explains why the World Series starved Dodgers, who haven’t been victorious in a Fall Classic since 1988, need to trade Kershaw if they ever want to end their championship drought.
