CJ Gardner-Johnson on Javon Wims Cheap Shot: 'That Man Punch Like a Female'

(Pictures at Bottom of Page) Saints defensive back CJ Gardner-Johnson took to Instagram to blast Bears wide receiver Javon Wims hours after Wims’ unprecedented sequence of sucker punches that eventually led to his two-game suspension.

Gardner-Johnson made three posts after the incident on Sunday Night Football, first posting an Instagram story of a photo with a black background with the caption reading ‘THAT MAN PUNCH LIKE A FEMALE’ with the laughing face emoji, with ‘DON’T CAP FOR THE GRAM’ written under that with the ‘100’ emoji.

Gardner-Johnson's next Instagram story was another picture of an all black background with a caption in all caps reading ‘AIN’T NO MAN PUNCH OF ME, BRA. CHEAP SHOT LIKE A FEE’ with the ‘100’ emoji once again.

Gardner-Johnson would then post a picture of his two gold necklaces with the caption ‘They still here’ with the crying laughing emoji, referring to Wims' failed attempt to try and rip his necklace off.

Wims ran up to Gardner-Johnson at the end of a first down play during the third quarter on the other side of the field. Cameras quickly switched from the Bears’ ball-carrier being tackled, to the bizarre scrum that ensued.

Wims jogged up to Gardner-Johnson unimpeded while Gardner-Johnson had his back to him. Wims then tapped Gardner-Johnson on the shoulder to turn him around, then tried to yank off his gold chain, and then socked him in the helmet with an open face punch.

Gardner-Johnson was stunned from the punch, and just stood defenseless staring at the refs, and then back at Wims, still perplexed on why Wims had just struck him with a punch.

Then Wims reared back and hit Gardner-Johnson with another forceful open-handed punch to the facemask of Gardner-Johnson while Gardner-Johnson's hands were still down, offering no defense to the strikes to the head. A massive pile up ensued.

Wims said after the game that Gardner-Johnson had ‘spit on him’, but there hasn’t been camera footage found of the alleged spitting incident, and Gardner-Johnson denied those accusations after the game.

Cameras did, however, pick up video of Gardner-Johnson ripping Wims’ mouthpiece off a couple plays earlier, and a poking his finger through the facemask of Bears receiver Anthony Miller.

On Monday, the NFL suspended Wims two games for ‘violations of unsportsmanlike conduct rules.’
