Colin Cowherd Ranks the Top 10 NFL Teams Heading Into Week 9

Herd Hierarchy: Colin Cowherd Ranks the 10 Best NFL Teams Heading Into Week 9 – November 3rd

(VIDEO SEGMENT ABOVE)

10. Miami Dolphins (4-3) (Unranked)

“They’re on a three-game winning streak. They were out-gained by 326 yards and WON. They’re good, they’re not great. They have the number one scoring defense, and I think they’re well-coached. Being well-coached is good enough to be in this group. Like seriously, they can go over the top – the Saints CAN’T. When you get outgained by 326 yards and still WIN, and win convincingly? Miami is 10.”

9. Arizona Cardinals (5-2) (10)

“Kyler Murray leads all quarterbacks in rushing touchdowns and rushing yards. It’s SOMETHING. He’s had multiple touchdowns in every game, and he’s growing. They’re number one in the NFL in total offense and giving you around 250 passing yards a game, and 150 yards rushing. They are hard to defend and I would NOT want to play them. They’re certainly not the worst team in the NFC West. They are very explosive and are getting better on defense. I think they’re number nine."

8. Green Bay Packers (5-2) (7)

“Green Bay just got blown out. They’re too reliant on Davante Adams. They got rid of Blake Martinez, the linebacker, so now they’re lousy at that position. They’ve lost two of their last three games off a bye, and Minnesota pushed them around like a grocery cart for three and a half hours. But they’ve got Aaron Rodgers, they’re good with a lead, they’re competent at head coach, and very good at quarterback, but I wouldn’t trust them in a big spot.”

7. Tennessee Titans (5-2) (5)

“The Titans just got rolled by Cincinnati. They were good like three weeks ago. I love their coach, Derrick Henry is amazing, and Ryan Tannehill is pretty good, but they need a pass rush, so they’re limited. We don’t think they have a bad coach or they’re a bad team. It felt like that was a bad matchup with Cincinnati. That’s a good offense, and they couldn’t get a pass rush. Cincinnati’s offensive line stinks, so they couldn’t even take advantage of the one Cincinnati issue that’s really bad. I still like them. They just went and got a corner before the Trade Deadline, that’ll help their defense.”

6. Las Vegas Raiders (4-3) (Unranked)

“They’ve beaten the Chiefs, they’ve beaten the Saints, and I just watched them this weekend go to Cleveland and beat a really solid Cleveland team. Derek Carr is going to set every record in his career. He and Gruden work. He’s good and he’s a top 10 quarterback with Gruden in EVERYTHING. They got beat by Tampa during a COVID week, and the whole offensive line had a COVID scare and they looked like crap. Their schedule going forward is the third easiest in the league. They beat the Panthers, who I think are a really tough out, they beat the Saints, they beat the Chiefs, they beat the Browns, and I think they’re a top 6 team.”

5. Baltimore Ravens (5-2) (4)

“Now I’m feeling confident. Baltimore is a top 5 team. They outgained the Steelers by 240 yards. Lamar didn’t play well but they’re still a good team. They outgained the Steelers, and pushed them around for 3 and a half hours. Lamar Jackson has regressed and that’s why they’re not a Super Bowl favorite right now. He’s regressed, but I don’t think that stuff is totally unsolvable. I don’t like his throwing motion and I never have, it’s weird, he missed too many receivers, and I don’t think he’s good up the sidelines on his deep balls.”

4. Seattle Seahawks (6-1) (8)

“This is the one team I think is underrated. They get Jamal Adams back but I haven’t seen him in a while. Carlos Dunlap, here he comes too. It’s the best offense, and did you know they’re the only team in the NFL that has scored 27+ points in every game this year? They have the best player in the world, and they’re winning without healthy running backs, and without a pass rush. When Jamal Adams comes back, and Carlos Dunlap comes in, they’re going to start rolling people.”

3. Pittsburgh Steelers (7-0) (3)

“I know they’re undefeated but can they blow out anybody? They’re a field goal away from going to overtime with Tennessee, and this past week they got outgained by 240 yards. I honestly think the weakness of the team is Big Ben. You can’t blame Mike Tomlin, Tomlin has done his job. This defense is great and that is Tomlin’s side of the ball. I have been critical of Mike Tomlin, but he is beyond criticism. That defense is Mike’s and it is NASTY. You can’t blame Kevin Colbert either. I think it’s the best constructed roster in the NFL. I don’t trust Big Ben in big spots. I’ve seen him make too many bad throws, so I’d say Pittsburgh three.”

2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-2) (1)

“Oh stop, last night was so predictable. I had the Giants last night, and it was the most predictable game of the year. Tampa Bay plays the Saints next week – it’s their season and they want to win that division because they got beat by them first week and they looked like garbage. They’re still not healthy, and they’re still doing it with used parts at skilled positions. Mike Evans, thank God is back, and Chris Godwin they’re still waiting on. This is the best combination of explosive offense, veteran smart quarterback, and great defense. I got it all here. They’re basically Pittsburgh with more efficiency at quarterback. Tom Brady right now has 17 passing touchdowns, and one pick since Week 3. That’s the best in the NFL in that span. I trust Tom is big spots and I don’t always with Big Ben.”

1. Kansas City Chiefs (7-1) (2)

“They’re 4-0 on the road this year. They can play in the parking lot at Fox and still beat you, it doesn’t matter where, they’re gonna drop 35 on you. This is the best team in the league and I trust Andy Reid and Mahomes down the stretch more than I would trust Big Ben. Their defense is way underrated now, and it’s a Top 5 defense in the NFL, and playing really, really good.”
